BOREL PTA FUNDS
Why the Borel PTA exists:
Our operating budget allows us to plan and sponsor community building and educational programs throughout the year for our students and families. Just to name a few - Head Start Day, Parent Education, 6th Grade Outdoor Education, Book Fair, Founder’s Day, and 8th Grade Graduation. We also help supply our school teachers with classroom school supplies, copier support, professional development, and academic department support. Our operating budget also allows us to plan and run our two main community programs - Cultural Fair and TableArt Luncheon. The net proceeds of our fundraising and the operating expenses make up our PTA Gifts-To-School Fund.
Fundraising Goal:
The Borel PTA has a 2022-23 fundraising goal of $282,000 to keep important programs and staffing in place. With Borel’s 925 students, this fundraising goal comes out to be over $300 per student. We ask families who can donate to contribute $750 per student to make our overall goal achievable. With the funds we raise each year, the PTA uses part of the funds for the current year’s operating budget, and the net income funds the PTA Gifts-To-School Fund.
What is included in our Operating Budget:
Our Operating Budget allows us to plan and sponsor community building and educational programs throughout the year for our students and families. Just to name a few, our Headstart Day for incoming 6th graders, the Cultural Fair, Parent Education, Student Aid and Wellness, End of Year Activities/Promotion, and the Book Fair. We also help supply our teachers with supplies not covered by the school supply lists and other administrative costs. Our operating budget also allows us to plan and run our two main fundraisers, the Bobcat Boosters and the Spring Fundraiser/Auction. The net proceeds of our fundraising and the operating expenses make up our PTA Gifts-To-School Fund.
